- Since June 2024, Marie-Curie Research Fellow at Ludwig Maximilian University.
- Before the current appointment, Dr. Marku was a Researcher in History at the Institute of History at the Academy of Sciences of Albania.
- From September 2022 to April 2023, Dr. Marku was a Visiting Research Fellow at the Center for Cold War Studies at the Wilson Center in Washington D.C., USA.
- From May 2021 to September 2022 Dr. Marku has been appointed Lecturer in History at Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, China
- Between September 2018 and June 2021, Dr. Marku was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in History at Xiamen University, China.
- Dr. Marku obtained his PhD in History in November 2017 at Lingnan University, Hong Kong.
