David Wolff, Professor of Eurasian History at the Slavic-Eurasian Research Center of the University of Hokkaido (Japan) will undertake several research visits as a guest of the Chair of Russian-Asian Studies in 2023-2025. Professor Wolff has been awarded the Humboldt Award for his pioneering achievements in the field of Russian-Asian-Pacific integration history, which gives him the opportunity to intensify contacts with researchers in Munich and Germany. Professor Wolff became known for his dissertation "To the Harbin Station. The Liberal Alternative in Russian Manchuria, 1898-1914" (Stanford UP 1999). His most recent publication is the volume "Sugihara Chiune and the Soviet Union: New Documents. New Perspectives" (Sapporo 2022), co-edited with Takao Chizuko and Ilya Altman.
