Further Information

Elena Vishlenkova is professor of History and an expert in the History of the Tsardom and the Soviet Union. Her research focus is on Medical History, Visual and Educational History of the Russian Empire.

In 2012 she founded the Centre for University Studies at the Moscow Higher School of Economics. This was followed in 2019 by the founding of the Centre for the History of Medicine. She has been a Guest Researchers at the Universities of Tübingen (2006), Mainz (2008) and Regensburg (2010) and headed a German-Russian research project on the History of Medical Geography of the Tsardom together with Prof. Andreas Renner. Her current research focus is Soviet Biopolitics, the History of the Pharmaceutical Market as well as Soviet Health Care Reforms.
